When I first landed on the tagline “Passion drives us, performance defines us.” It felt like more than a brand statement; it felt personal. It spoke to how each of us moves through life, and more importantly, how we’re shaped by what truly calls us and how we show up in the world.
Passion is where everything begins.
It’s that spark God places in us. The thing that keeps tugging at our spirit even when life gets heavy. Passion isn’t always loud. It doesn’t always make itself immediately known. Sometimes it shows up as a whisper, a nudge, a quiet conviction. And other times, it’s a raging fire that refuses to die, no matter how many reasons we may have to slow down or walk away.
Passion alone isn’t the whole story.
Performance is where true passion becomes real.
Not performance for applause. Not performance to prove something to anyone else. But performance as stewardship for how we carry the gift God gave us. How we work, train, practice, and navigate all areas of our life. How we choose perseverance on days when inspiration is nowhere to be found. How we keep moving forward with a heart grounded in purpose.
You can have passion without discipline.
You can have discipline without passion.
But when the two meet, something powerful takes shape.
That’s the heartbeat of Heralds of Our Passion.
This journey has stretched me, challenged me, humbled me, and fueled me in ways I didn’t expect. Truthfully, I don’t know where H.O.O.P. will take me. I’m stepping forward one day at a time, trusting that if God placed this in front of me, He’ll guide the path even when the steps feel uncertain.
Still, I look forward to the challenge because growth lives in the tension between passion and performance and faith holds it together.
To everyone who’s been riding with me, supporting, encouraging, praying, believing, God bless you; I truly appreciate you. To those watching from a distance, unsure, skeptical, or still figuring out what this is all about… God bless you too. We’re all works in progress, and grace is big enough for each and every one of us.
Thank you for reading. Let’s see where God leads next.
