Every movement needs a messenger. At Heralds of Our Passion (H.O.O.P.), that messenger is Harold the Herald.
When H.O.O.P. first began, it was never just about clothes or basketball. It started with passion, taking something I loved and transforming it into something that carried meaning. Over time, I realized that H.O.O.P. needed more than a logo or a name; it needed a figure who could embody the spirit of the brand and the message behind it. That realization led to the creation of Harold.
Why the Number 13?
Harold wears the number 13 for a reason; it’s my birthday number, and it grounds Harold in the story behind the brand. H.O.O.P. was born from real experiences: a love for the game, a foundation of faith, and a desire to live with purpose. The number 13 serves as a reminder that everything connected to H.O.O.P. flows from something real, rooted in both passion and authenticity.
Harold’s Message
The word herald means to proclaim or announce good news. In Scripture, angels were often heralds of divine purpose; messengers sent to deliver truth, hope, and direction. Harold represents that same spirit. He’s not just a mascot; he is a messenger with a mission.
-
Faith: Harold reminds us that everything we do should point upward. Whether it is basketball, business, or daily life, each is an opportunity to glorify God through the gifts we have been given. Passion without purpose is empty, but passion guided by faith can move hearts, inspire others, and build something that lasts.
-
Community: Just as a herald spreads news to the people, Harold represents unity. He embodies bringing people together on and off the court. He represents players, fans, families, and anyone who shares the same love for the game and for life.
-
Passion and Purpose: Harold calls us to pour our hearts into what we do. Basketball may be the platform, but the message goes deeper. It is about character, perseverance, and transforming what we love into something meaningful.
More Than a Mascot
Harold the Herald carries a mission. He embodies the core values that H.O.O.P. stands for: faith, passion, community, and purpose.
When people see Harold, the goal is not for them to think only about basketball or clothing. The hope is that they see a reminder to live with intention, to stay true to their calling, and to inspire others to do the same.
For me, Harold is personal. He ties together faith, purpose, and the vision behind H.O.O.P. My hope is that he becomes more than just a brand symbol. I want him to serve as a reminder that what we love, whether basketball, art, or anything else, can become a vessel for divine purpose and a blessing to others.
This is the heartbeat of H.O.O.P., and Harold the Herald is here to carry that message.
