Strength in Lifting Others

Strength in Lifting Others

There’s something powerful about lifting others up. Not just in the gym or on the court, but in faith. Over time, I’ve realized that helping others grow closer to God often strengthens my own walk with Him. When you encourage someone else, remind them of God’s promises, or simply stand beside them through a tough season, you start to see how His will works through relationships, through purpose, and through the quiet ways He uses us to build each other up.

I wouldn’t call myself a perfect Christian. Far from it. But every day, I’m doing my best to walk with God, to listen more closely, to trust more deeply, and to become better than I’ve ever been. Through that process, I’ve felt called to help others in their own faith journey: to lift them up as they seek their purpose, and to remind them that their passion has meaning when it’s rooted in Him.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17

That verse stays with me as a reminder that we’re meant to strengthen and uplift one another to help refine our character and our faith. Yet too often in today’s world, we do the opposite. We tear each other down. We laugh at someone else’s misfortune or take pleasure in another’s fall. Why? What do we gain from it?

We weren’t created to compete for worth but to reflect God’s love through how we treat one another. Every time we choose to build instead of break, to encourage instead of criticize, we move closer to the kind of unity and grace God calls us to live out daily.

Each conversation, each act of kindness, and each moment of encouragement can be a spark that draws someone closer to God.

Honestly, I don’t know exactly where H.O.O.P. will go. But I do know that if it continues to lift others up, point people toward faith, and remind them that passion and purpose come from Him, it will be something lasting. Something special.

Because when you build with God’s grace as your foundation, even if you don’t have all the answers, He will make sure what you create stands the test of time.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3

So I’ll keep showing up, creating, sharing, and trusting. I’ll keep lifting others in sport, in spirit, and in purpose, and let God handle the rest.
